The members of Soroptimist International of Spain have decided to come to the aid of the victims of DANA.
Background:
On the 29th of October 2024 torrential rains caused catastrophic floods in Valenci and locally in Guadalhorce Valle (Malaga). This tragedy has left many of the inhabitants of the affected areas homeless, people have lost family and friends, have lost their job or place of work and are without resources.
Objectives:
To cover in an effective and timely manner the urgent needs of the affected population both in the Guadalhorce Valley and in Valencia.
To support long-term recovery, specifically housing, work and psychological needs. As Soroptimists we will focus on women and children.
Ensure that we avoid paying for support covered by others.
Ensure that these funds and aids actually reach the victims.
